The ingredients needed to make Gajar ka halwa (Carrot Halwa):
- Prepare 10 dark orange carrot
- Prepare 1 litre milk
- Take 100 gms khoya
- Take 3 Cardamon powder
- Get 3 tbs Ghee
- Get 150 gms cut mix dry fruits(almonds, pistachios and raisins)
- Make ready 100 gms sugar(you can increase/decrease quantity as per taste)
- Get 4-5 threads of zafraan
Instructions to make Gajar ka halwa (Carrot Halwa):
- Wash & clean the carrot. Trim the edges and peel the skin. Now grate them to shreds.
- Heat a big non stick vessel or pan and put the shredded carrot, add milk and let it start boiling
- Let it cook for over 45 mins on low flame and add the mix dry fruits before the milk completely dries off.. keep stirring
- Once the milk has almost dried, add ghee and start stirring the halwa and let it fry until it changes colour
- Now add khoya and keep stirring
- Lastly add sugar and zafraan, keep stirring until you see the ghee on the sides of the pan.
- Garnish with khoya & nuts and serve
