Serve this moong dal khichdi with a dollop of ghee on top and yogurt & pickle on the side! Sometimes I share on this blog things that I couldn't have even thought of sharing when I first started the blog. Kichadi is my favorite so wanted to try millet kichadi and thinai was my choice. Instructions to make Millet And Whole Moong Khichdi:

- Soak bajra, moong dal, and whole moong for 4-5 hours.

- Pressure cook the pearl millet, moong dal, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder, salt, onion, carrots, tomatoes spring onion, and whole moong separately till 3 whistles on medium heat.

- Take a deep pan. Put the oil in it.

- Then add the mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds crackle, add the ginger chilli paste, a little turmeric and the above cooked ingredients.

- Add water for the required consistency.

- Adjust the salt according to taste.

- Mix well.

- Cook for 2 minutes.

- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves! Enjoy with pickles, papad and ghee!
This recipe uses foxtail millet and kodo millet in equal measure. Millets are considered very healthy and therefore used commonly to replace some of the more common grains we consume like wheat and rice.
